These two are fairly close to each other, from memory one in Jan the other Feb.
Has anyone been to either? I won't be abe to go to both so which is better?

A friend told me Farnborough was bloody awful, hardly anything there earlier this year

Would not recommend Farnborough either if previous years are anything to go by, didn't go this year because 2009 was not worth the trip. 2008 was not bad, hence the revisit.

It depends on what you want! I don't go to Esher as there is nothing there that interests me. I'm mainly into papercrafts. Farnborough wins hands down for me, but I must admit, last year wasn't up to the usual standard. Being local to me also has a lot to do with me going LOL

Thanks for your replies, I must have another look at each venue to see if they have put up a list of who's going to be there

Been to both and in my opinion Esher is by far the better. Farnborough used to be good (well when it was a thorpe park if that makes sense!), last few years have been a bit pants IMHO.

I live quite close to Esher and went there for the first and only time 4 years ago and found that it was mainly stitchcraft, needlwork products - very little paper crafting which is a shame because it would be so easy to get there. I've been to the Farnborough show many times (except last year) and loved it but heard on here, I think, that last year's wasn't so good, many companies who usually exhibit weren't there, so its interesting to hear that some think Esher is better - maybe its improved. I think the best idea ,as you say, is to look at the exhibitors before making a decision, think I'll do that too.

I think last years Make It at Farnborough was badly affected by the weather, and had to shut a day early because of the high winds. This could explain why some exhibitors weren't there. x
