The link crashed on my laptop so I've stopped watching - got to get DS from school soon anyway. Some nice kits, just a teeny bit pricey for me ATM. I've been looking for a nice chipboard book though - wanted to make one on Egypt for my Dad

I bought 587312 - the Beauty Marks floral embellishments. I have done similar effects to these previously and they've looked really good (not often I say that about my own work!) but I did like the look of these "cheat" versions. :)

We have some of the Say It In Crystals sheets in the shop - not the ones that were on today though.

I got bored with the show so came to put it on in the background while I am printing off job applications. I'll be looking for a few bits tomorrow at the NEC though.

Thoroughly enjoyable hour once Ali was muted.

Loved the wax crayon and paint technique used on the chipboard book cover.

Lots more of these cover designs available at www.charmedcardsandcrafts.co.uk

I thought 'A' was very very annoying, she just didn't give the guest a chance to sell her own products, you would have thought that she was the worlds best crafter out, telling her guest how to do crafting!!!! I did like the products though shall have a look out for them at the NEC

In the light of voice over Keenan I am rather glad I was otherwise engaged when the show was on.

Rats missed that bit - thanks for the pointer to Charmed Cards & Crafts though didn't realise they had them there - I used them the other week for my Halloween bit n' bobs & my order arrived within 2 days...I have to stay away from their K&Co section though...

I've already moaned about AK's interrupting and inane witter elsewhere on the forum tonight, she was very annoying today and I counted at least 3 times when she literally interrupted and talked over the guest, never mind all of the inane wittering the rest of the time. I'm sure she is a veyr nice lady but I wish that she would watch one of the shows she presents and then she might realise how annoying she can be!
Okay, 2nd rant over, it's just a shame when you want to listen to the guest and not the presenter. I loved those blingy swirly designs, so pretty, something else for the wish list!

I`ve just emailed QVC to say how AK totally ruined the hour for me,I ended up shouting at the telly.

Oh thank goodness it wasn't just me. I've just come on here and found the comments about AK - she was bad yesterday with Dawn and as soon as I saw her on today I groaned. I honestly have tried to have an open mind but I find her so over excited and aggressive, if she just quietens down the products virtually sell themselves, its like watching a market trader the way she sells. Anyway, loved the products but watched with sound down! :D

I was disappointed by the show, thought we were going to get the more unusual prima flowers and AK irritated me too.

Two kits tempted me but not enough to buy !

Rainbowwand

Nothing tempted me enough to buy either, now if they had had some of those large cans of flowers that might have been a different matter :)

I wanted the flower spice rack, but knew that I would have nowhere to put it in reality it needed to be about 4 times bigger!

Being cynical here, but I'd say this is an example of a vanilla reply. Pardon me for stating the obvious, but its us that pay these peoples salaries, albeit indirectly. This constant interrupting on inaness is enough to drive anyone to drink, by all means have an informed presenter, but please, is it too much to ask to have them know about craft.

Marie
13-11-2008, 09:51 PM
Well I've also emailed QVC about it this evening, I've also mentioned a couple of other presenters as well, so hopefully the feedback will get through. I really don't like complaining as I'm sure that they are all very nice people, but the simple point is that it has got to be bad for business if they are making people switch off! I'll let .you know how they reply

Glad I'm not the only one to let her get to me. I actually emailed for a second time on Tuesday having already been told on a previous occasion that the studio managers would be told, and made a fairly snippy comment about her ladyship obviously being above this kind of criticism. One thing I WILL say in QVC's defence, though is that a) they answer emails, and b) they clearly do not use any ridiculous auto-reply, but actually answer things individually. We can only live in hope that if we bombard them heavily enough someone might do something.

I complained via email about Jill Franks ruining a craft show a while back and I had no reply. :(

Marie

I emailed last night and received a prompt reply from their customer services saying that they would forward my email to the studio managers, so I'll let you know what if anything they say.

These arrived today and they're going straight back. I'm sooooo disappointed. They're just really poor quality imho. You can see glue smudges on the flowers and they're not half as "full" as they seemed on the demos. :(

Anyone know if I can get a prepaid returns label if I'm disappointed with the quality?

Marie
17-11-2008, 03:19 PM
There's no harm in asking for one. One thing that I think people often forget is that whilst QVC and IW are very good at telling you that you have 30 days to return items, they should also (well to my mind) remind you that this does not affect your statutory rights. So if you receive an item that is faulty, they should bear the cost of returning it. You can either email their customer services or call them and explain that the goods are faulty and that you would like them to send a return paid label. I've done this on a couple of occasions and they have sent the label without any problems.

Marie
17-11-2008, 03:20 PM
And you can also ask them to refund not only the cost of the item but your original p&p charge as well - again they've done this when I've requested it.

I will do that Marie - no harm in asking. :)

Grounds for a prepaid returns label and return of your postage costs if you ask me :)
