Hi all

First time poster, so first the introductions..... I am not really a craftperson although I love all the ribbons, cards, scrapbooks etc.;)
here is my question:
I am the godmother of my sisters 8 yr ol girl.
She loves to draw and paint and she is very good at it.
She samples ribbons, glitter paper... all small things she can find and I am sure she would love to start making a scrapbook.
Any recs what to give/buy her as a starter kit? Does QVC have any good kits that are not too complicated or can I buy it somewhere else?
TIA

Hi and welcome Tiaaa! Can you give us a clue as to how much you would like to spend as a guide - as you can imagine, they are so many options out there!

It depends on her taste, this one looks like a bit of a deal http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail/walk.yah.UKCL~U005

for more money there is this one
http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail/walk.yah.UKCO~UK73

or this, a recent tsv
http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx?app=detail&params=item^587461,navlist^587461*586156*,cm_scid^ dtlr&walk=yah.UKCO~UK73&cmtags=

added: this is a bright kit with a good instruction book, but they have just put the price back up from its clearance price so while still good value, not vv good IYSWIM

the other option is to look on ebay, you get some excellent deals there

and that's only QVC!! it depends a bit on her taste in colours as well as your budget

I was thinking of that kit, Jeanette, but I couldn't remember how much it was - it would be perfect for a little girl (and even us bigger girls :D)!

Couldn't agree more Dips. I only have the scrapbook stack and its stunning. Its better in the 'flesh' as the glittering etc... doesn't show up all that well on the screen

I have only the card stack and I love the papers, I haven't send them much though - they are soooooo nice - the best DCWV have done me thinks.

I'm not very good on scrapbook kits, but this (http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail/params.item.585350/walk.yah.UKCO-UK73) kit always sticks in my mind as a lovely bright kit. No album though.

What about some of the Papermania scrapbook kits? Like this one (http://www.stamps.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=325_780&products_id=9868), currently reduced at stamps.co.uk? It might be less daunting as it's an 8x8 kit complete with an album
