I've recently purchased one of the Debbie Bliss pattern books "Angel" which contains some gorgeous patterns for using with her "Angel" yarn , which is a very fine silk/mohair blend and retails at about £8 or just under for a 25g ball. Anyway once I'd picked myself up off the floor at the cost of making one of said garments, I remembered my mother telling me to always look for similar blends at lower prices so I'm going to start looking round. It doesn't have to be a silk/mohair blend but probably a silk blend of some sort probably with wool which is similarly light.

Anyone know of yarn suppliers who might do such blends at less expensive prices?

I've bought some bits from this place:

One HUGE problem. Lots of these fancy yarns around these days have a non standard tension. Means that you can't easily adapt another yarn. Very frustrating!!

EDIT: also think the one I've given you the link for might be a bit thicker than you are looking for. Isn't "Angel" a brand name rather than a yarn type? not sure.

Thought it was a bit like a Whispa yarn. But I could be way off the beaten track.

isn't Whisper (Patons) an eyelash yarn? or is that something different again.
Yikes, I remember the time when you had either 4ply or DK, maybe Aran, and that was it!
