X Cut Alphabet Dies

Can anyone help me please? I've just got this die and I can't get it to cut with my big shot. It won't go through on tab 2 but needs loads of shims on tab 1 and then all it does is emboss.

Hi there, welcome to the forum.

Can't help much as far as the bigshot is concerned but I happen to have been googling for using xcut alphabet dies this morning on a Cuttlebug. Suggestion seems to be that you use the same sandwich as you would for nesties.

I had a similar problem with my Cuttlebug when I tried to use a Go Kreate alphabet. After a lot of experiment I found this worked:

A plate ( the base one)
C plate ( the cutting plate)
Die facing upwards.
Card/paper
B plate ( the embossing plate)

Don't know if you can adapt that to a Bigshot. Be warned it does mean that you will mark top plate being used.

The sandwich recommended on the Xcut package is the same as the nesties one but the die is thicker than a nestie and won't go through.

That's frustrating. I decided against ordering an Xcut alphabet when I got some stuff earlier today. Googled again and it seems as though a few people are having problems getting a good result on any machine!

Really could do with a decent alphabet die cut too.
