This is the little 10x10cm card I made for DD to give to her friend last weekend:

But how many times did I attempt to colour in that damn bear?

Lol, you got there in the end and he looks fabulous. :) Write down what colours you've used to remind yourself. I love the soft pinks you have used, beautiful card.

they all look fine to me; especially for a 10yr old
The finished card thought does look great

What does practice make? A perfect card. Well done, and as long as you enjoyed the practice all is not lost!

I agree with Millburn, they all look fine to me Welly but the finished card is certainly a beauty, I'm sure DD's friend will be hugely impressed with its lovingly crafted (& extremely nicely coloured in!) cuteness! lol :star:

I'm another who thinks they all look great, but laid out like that what differences, all beautifully coloured but all showing light and shade differently. Great finished card too.

Well Welly I can understand the self-critism and of course, you will improve to the standard you have set yourself, but to me that bear has a lovely round tummy and beautiful rounded limbs, there is dimension to his hat too. All in all it's lovely and I think your DD's friend is a very lucky girl.

You've done really well those bears - please don't be overly critical of your own work (easier said than done I know) as we all do it.
As cmazza said make a note of the colours you have used - I have a book ring with little swatches on that I keep of colour blends I like or know work together. I also note down combinations I see in mags or on tutorials with a comment on the back to remind what it was for and I find it saves me time.
