Hi can anyone recomend where I can buy some cheapish cello bags but without the cleated edges, I once bought some of them I think it was from the works, and when I came to put an A5 card with envelope it wouldn't fit, the card fit bit not the envelope. I either saw or had an email which I can find, someone selling them for a £1 for 25 but I can't find it now. I don't need hundreds of the bags just about 50.
Thanks

try wilkinsons. or cuttingedgecrafts.co.uk. I have never used any, but cutting edgecafts is really helpful you can send an e-mail and they get back to you pretty quick.

I have the same problem, my local craft shop used to sell slightly larger ones but she has now closed and the only others I can get are from Boyes, made by papermania and the envelopes just wont fit. Am awaiting an order from that well known auction site, 100 for just under £3 with no p&p, thought it was worth risking to see what the sizes are like. They have been sent, kjust waiting for good old post office to deliver them. Just hoping they do the job as I have 50 cards for the charity stall at work waiting to be bagged up and taken in to sell.

I bought some great ones from a seller on ebay, can't remember the name, really large enough for a good sized envelope, I had to buy them in the 1000 though lol, but they are now nearly gone so will have to get some more.

I usually buy them from ebay but have just ordered some 8"x8" ones from Imag-e-nation so hope they are going to fit the 8"x8" cards and envelopes I've got, I won't be happy if they don't fit.

Daft question but not sure what a cleated/noncleated bag was? Only cleats I know of go on hiking boots!

ha ha crafty cat I've probably used the wrong word, it's when they have that weird seal on them round the edge, in effect making you lose a bit of the size, I know what I'm on about, lol

The bags arrived today and my large C5 envelopes fit in them nice and snuggly - enough room to add the card without it getting squished too much. I love making 8 x 8 cards but getting bags the right size is a nightmare I find, I usually end up using an A4 bag so would be interested to know how the ones from Imag-e-nation work out please.
Glad you asked craftycat - I was stumped as well!!!:confused2:

Joanna Sheen sells cello bags in different sizes.

LOL Angela. I'm brilliant at using wrong words or invented words! Must be something to do with being a crafter!.
I checked out the bags I buy from CraftSuperstore and they don't seem to have any sort of peculiar thingy involved in their construction. Certainly an A6 or A5 bag takes a card and envelope of that size. Need to be a bit careful if there are a lot of decoupage layers or embellishments though

I got the 8x8 card bags from Imag-e-nation, they're made by Craft UK the same as the ones Joanna Sheen sells, I've just tried putting one of the 8x8 cards from the QVC TSV a few weeks ago in and they are a very tight fit, they squashed the flowers I had on the front, so that card has gone back into an A4 bag, I'll try the Craft UK cards tomorrow to see if they are a better fit, hopefully the same make cards and envelopes should fit better otherwise I'm going to find myself with loads of card bags that are useless.

I'm sure one of the reviews commented on that Shepherdess, that the 8x8 cards were in fact quite a bit bigger than normal 8x8 cards & I seem to remember looking at the description that stated the cards alone were 8.3" or something, so once in envelopes I'm not surprised to hear that they won't go into a standard cello bag?

Thanks for posting your results Shepherdess, guess its more hunt the cello bag time now. I do have some large square cello bags somewhere in what is laughingly called my craft room that I picked up a few weeks ago when I was in York. Will try and hunt them out, get the ruler out and measure them up to see what size they are and if the kanban tsv cards fit in them. If they do I will post what make they are.

I always buy my envelopes and cello bags from Craft Creations. They work out at pennies each. They also give a discount ie the more you buy the cheaper they become. I have used this website for years and I have had no problems.

Have just tried the Craft UK 8x8 cards in the Craft UK 8x8 polybags and they are quite a snug fit and that's just a blank card and envelope, so not sure they will fit if there are any embellishments on the card. Anyone want to buy 200 8x8 poly bags?

I agree, they are an excellent supplier, particularly if buying in bulk. The one problem is their cards, envelopes and cello bags aren't exactly standard sizes (A5,A6 etc) so may not fit the cards you have. I have never used the 8 x 8 though but it does give all the measurements on the website. The cards I order are all slightly larger than standard so it might work to your advantage. I will be placing an order soon so if you would like me to order a few for you to try I will gladly do so or they might be willing to send you a sample.
