how to download a cd

I have quite a few cd's which don't need to be downloaded, but I am fed up of having to swop all the time. I have an external hard drive and it seems a shame to use it only for photos etc, is there anyone out there who can help me please:bear:

I take it that you want to download your cd's into your externals....I do this too. I start by turning both computer and ext. hard drive on then when it is booted up I insert my cd and when the message comes on the screen asking where you want to download to you choose the drive which your external hd is running....eg F drive or scroll down the choices in the wee box where the down arrow is and when you find the correct drive for the ext. hd then press ok and it should download into your ex. hd then. If you don't know where your ext. hd is situated then check your control panel for it's location. Hope this is not too confusing as I am not an expert on computers so hope this helps.
