Can anyone suggest a site where I can buy large square cello bags for 8" cards (and the envelope) as I have had no luck tracking any down
Thanks

I rather suspect that size is going to be as rare as A4 bags :(

Welly, I've seen A4 cello bags in quite a few places recently. 8" square is more unusual though but you can get cello bags that would be suitable for an 8" card here (http://www.envelope.co.uk/cello-bags/page/2/)

8" is about 200mm or 20cm so this one is probably the best I think

The issue with most A4 cello bags is that they are just that, A4, so don't accomodate a C4 envelope!

Ooooo, that's interesting Dips. I'll have to have a look at our ones on Monday.

I learnt that expensive lesson when I first started making cards. I assumed A5, A6 and 7x5 cello bags were designed to fit that size envelopes but with some manufacturers that is not the case. Those were the sizes of the cello bags so now I always check the measurements!!

yes thats the problem I can find 200x200mm but that is thesize of the card to accomodate the envelope aswell the bags need to be around 225/230mm square

Hi I recently bought some 8" square cards, envelopes and cell bags from a company called PDA. I hve used them a few times for card blanks, they have always given me an excellent service. Goods arrive quickly and very well packaged.
Cant remember the website but try googling them.
The cello bags and envelopes are large enough to contain the 8" card.
Hope this helps
Kay

I had a look at the A4 bags in the shop. The envelope doesn't fit in. :(

Welcome to the forum ILovePink. :) Our Dips uses PDA a lot and is always singing their praises, so I'm sure there must be a link to their site somewhere on the forum.

Who'd have thought there were so many websites just selling envelopes? Thanks for the link.

I sure do, I have them on speed dial (as Phree knows only too well as she has been known to join me in my buying forays;))! Their site is http://www.pdacardandcraft.co.uk, not the catchiest website name to remember!

I have used PDA too and love the quality. I only tend to buy from them though when I'm buying in bulk, then I can justify the P&P

Exactly, Jeanette, that's why Phree often "piggy-backs" onto one of my larger orders, but their quality and choice (both in terms of cardstock and, importantly, sizes) is superb. I have not found anyone that can match them for bulk purchasing, especially on A3, which is what I buy most often.

They also do a very nice quality C4 envelope - a proper envelope for an A4 card, not just a letter envelope.

A while ago I heard DB say that she wanted the QVC suppliers to make cello wraps for cards that are bigger enough for envelopes that fit A4 cards and other larger size specifically for people wanting to sell cards. The supplier apparantly called the studio when she was on and said that they were on to it, so presumably we should see some on QVC soon.
