Graham, pretty please, and my apologies for whinging, is there anyway to switch off the irritating notifications everytime someone responds to something I clicked thank you on, or indeed thanks me??
I use the notifications button to get to my pms (when I get any that is) and 5 times already I thought I had a pm only to find it was this new addition of informing me about who thanked who and why. Pretty please can you either turn it off or tell me how I can turn it off cos my steam powered internet can't cope with opening up a page which is really of no use to me.
Thanks in advance for any help

:mysmilie_497: Looby, I keep thinking 'ooh, somebody loves me & wants to talk to me, hurray'.....& then I find that they don't at all really, it's another 'thanks' notification.....which is nice per se obviously but I am not yet so insecure I need to have constant messages telling me that people actually do appreciate my random babblings sometimes.....! LOL

Ooops sorry Looby - clicked 'I like your post' & then realised you'll get another notification :headbang:
I like the 'I like your post' option BTW, it's tends to be more appropriate than 'thanks' in most cases - we've all fallen into 'Thanks' as a way of saying we like/agree with a post I think?
But, I agree about the little notification dooberry...

Yes I totally agree, I have asked the publisher and they say the option is not available, I don't mind uninstalling if it is getting a pain.

I just get a neat dropdown telling me whether its thanks or a PM....don't mind if you remove it if its hassling others though.
I don't know if anyone has noticed (I came across it whilst "faffing"), but if you click on community along the top of the page, there's a little league table of our statistics! Ha! (I'm sad, I know).

Please do Graham - it even notifies you when you thank someone!

But where have the 'Thanks' and 'Like' buttons gone now? I didn't mind the notifications, it is not as annoying as the script thingy.

Think with all the problems with the script message having no thanks button is the best thing for now LOL
I thank you all LOL

Thank you Graham.
Whilst the addition of a thanks button is an asset, the constant notifications were not. Must also take up uncessary space on your server keeping all those statistics too.
I love this place. You tell the owner there is a problem and he gets right onto it!!!

Thanks Graham. I usually only seem to have had a PM when one of the "gang" is sending me support if I'm having a bad time. I only send a PM to support someone else
Sorry, waffly day today. Point is the notification of "thankyou" and "like this" was then not exactly helpful.
