This week I have used my crafting day to do some more sewing - a hand finished felt cushion. As this day is meant to be a training and "what would sell" day for me I would be interested to hear what you think.
(I think the best training I could have would be in photography as mine tend to be a bit hit and miss:grin:)
I think they are lovely and will sell well depending on the price the colours are perfect.

Cute cushions GrannyP.....fiddly & time-consuming though if you're hoping to churn 'em out in their hundreds......? LOL

I'm with Kitten GP - that hand finishing just might drive you bonkers if you have to do enough of them!

Great GP - very funky and modern! I did a fair last year and a lady selling cushions didn't sell any! They were all hand sewn and she was charging £15.00 each!
Sorry I seem to have exclamation mark itis!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those are lovely GP, although as others have said, they look very time consuming.

Thanks everyone. It was pretty time consuming but I cut all the flowers out with a die and I could sit and gather a few in the evening as I find it hard to do nothing. Sewing them on doesn’t take long. Also I would not do many in the same style as I think I would need a wide variety.
As discussed in the past there is something about craft fairs that makes people expect to get things for next to nothing and I don’t think that would be the best outlet for any handmades, beit cushions, cards , boxes, etc. … I just haven’t worked out where is yet
I have been out with Mum today and we had to go into town so I took the opportunity to do some research. (Hence the Kath Kidston bag sitting next to me):giggle:. It made me wonder if one of our local shops - we have one selling French and distressed furniture - might be a better outlet, if they were interested. However, it would mean designing to fit their style. I must say I am enjoying both what I am putting down to research (going in all my favourite shops) and to training (spending more time than I could otherwise justify on craft)

I think they look good The art type shop in my nearest town sell quite a lot of Handmade Cushions and small sewn items they are quite expensive but she seem to have a quick turnover.
Her window is always one or two colour so everything matches at the moment she has a small (pram size) pom pom blanket and its £35 which seems dear to me.
Maybe if you could ask at a shop or take a couple of samples they might sell and take orders which is what the art shop does

My crafty Tuesday this week was meant to be painting but the best thing about setting your own time-table is you can change it! :clapping: I have got the sewing bug (big worry that I will have much material stash eventually as I have paper stash). My first job was to do two more cushions to match the first one I made - just for me! The worry is that I am now looking at the toning curtain material. I won't bore you with more pictures; thankfully they do look the same!
I then went on to make a little apron with my Cath Kidston sale buy. It's double sided, but you use so little fabric that seemed OK.

Just made my first bag. This was from a kit and I will make a few changes with the next one but it was a good learning experience. (My crafty Tuesday turned into my crafty Wednesday because of the bank holidays!)

Although it doesn't say I'm sure it's Kath Kidston. Her material does have a lovely weight for bags. I didn't like the ribbon that came in the kit for the loop and it was difficult to centre although I think it would be quite easy if I was working from scratch again now I know how it needs to look in the end. I think I may just unpick that bit an remove it.
