Planning to send my order in today to Clarity. Not attracted to the new stamps on the show today but plan to order:
the set of four flower tiles
the celtic corners with greetings
the dandelion fairy.

That's just for starters of course

Trying really hard not to spend anything and save my pennies as I'm off to Port Sunlight in 2 weeks for the Happy Stampers. Writing lists of wants/needs (same thing?!!).

I must say I'm very very happy with the stamping handles that I bought they make me stamp properly now

The Clarity handles? I find I'm getting much better results too. Never could get on with Rockablocks. I tend to get a nervous twitch in my wrists when I am stressed but seem to be in control with Clarity handles.

Glad you said that CC as I was thinking of trying the Clarity handles myself!

KWC, worth being aware that apparently Barbara broke one of the handles in her demo on Sunday (didn't see it) and another forum member had one break.

Trick is to press down on the flat part of the "handle", directly over the stamp, not on the curved bit!

Oh, I'll bear that in mind then CC - like you, my hands are not very 'steady' & the more I 'concentrate', the more I 'wobble' it seems!
I have a couple of smallish clarity stamps with handles & seem to get a nice impression with them, whereas I have to concentrate like mad once I have my grubbly little fingers spanning a standard acrylic block! lol

So far I have bought the American Crafts Dear Lizzy stamps and papers in QVC's bargain section. I already have the ribbon in that range and it's lovely.

My May spends are mounting up ! I was off work on holidat Easter week so watched quite a bit of C&c. I have been good throughout April just compiling a wish list(as advised on another thread) Anywho have been considering buying either a Cricut or Grand Calibur I couldn't decide which one to have so they stayed on my wish list. However after seeing Mel Heaton enthusing about the Cricut I have bought one. That lady could sell freezers to eskimos! She is so passionate about her work and I really enjoy her appearances on C&C. Also purchased a Houge (not yet arrived)& book(what a swizz-there was a mistake in a couple of pages so they have just put in a note saying sorry and enclosing rectified pages) Also bought some Lili of the valley stamps and toppers. Some gems, card stock ,envelopes. That's a few things off my list so I should me happy for a few weeks! Funny though, a few things on my wish list I nolonger fancy so doing a list really helps!
Happy crafting

I've ordered two sets of Aquamarkers (Craftsuperstore have a special offer), another Martha Stewart border punch and some PVA glue. The glue doesn't count though does it as that is an essential item!

Made the mistake of checking out the Craft Obsessions sale, some good stuff. Oh dear!

well I've bought from QVC a kit with butterflies and flowers and lace borders in B&W; and then from our Wins at Foilplay some card and some cutting thingies for my cuttlebug, and I'm a house mouse fan so after C&C yesterday went to Joanna's and ordered up the lastest Decoupage and shrinkplastic sanders and a new Versamark ink pad, and that's in the 1st week of the month

But I do need it all, like the versamark, I have an idea for the May swap (might not work yet) and my pad is very old :cheeky:

So far I have been extremely reserved, all I have bought is two tubs of crafters companion envelope glue and two door signs to alter with my paint fusion stash. And my grand spend, 99p each the glue and 29p each the signs in my local shop which buys up bankrupt stock.

I do want Sheena's new stamps and paints but am fulfilling a promise to take eldest daughter to see Take That at the end of the month (promised when she was small before they split up and Im a good mum so I do always keep my promises - this one has just taken a bit longer than most lol) so have just had to get train tickets for that as well as for daughters graduation ceremony in July so train tickets to newcastle for 2 times two journeys equals £100, so spending on craft in May equals not a lot, well unless the 20 loved but hardly used craft items I popped on ebay today sell lol.

I think I will try the wish list thing - there are lots I think I want but If I dont get them Im not too upset so this will be a good way of prioritising. Have fun with the cricut - I know exactly what you mean about Mel though, I have recorded her two expression shows because since watching her I have looked at it in a whole new way and I loved it before her shows. Hope create and craft get her back soon for more.

Hi Judith, is it worth the trip to Kanban? I've often wondered if it's worth a visit, but it's quite a trip for me if there's not much there. Is it all seconds that they sell? At the sincerely yours craft shows there is always a stall that sells Kanban seconds and sometimes they are ok sometimes not so ok.

I only went as we were at our caravan in Ripon and we called at RHS Harlow Carr and Bettys on way back.I wouldn't have made the journey from home which is Sunderland area.
Having said that it seemed a lot better organised than it used to be.Most of the card is patterned and from Kanban kits but some is plain. There are also loose sheets from previous kits like the Autumn/Spring sets. They have different priced boxes you can fill.
In a smaller room they have lots of stamps and mirri card(at 30p sheet if you buy 30 or more) and individual sheets from current kits at slightly reduced prices.

I've been shopping again. As in AGAIN
Set of Cuttlebug embossing folders and a set of the new style (I think) cut and emboss dies (decorative tags)from Countrycrafts. Well done, yet again Rich for prompt delivery.
Grey Stazon ink pad and some magnetic storage sheets from Once upon a Stamp. Never actually ordered from them before but love their blog.

Just placed my order for the cardstock, envelopes & cuttlebug die from various outless to make SIL's thank you cards...I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing if I can do a production line, not done one before...

Oh & forgot to confess to a 6x6 pad of tutti frutti papers a couple of weeks back when I bumped into bank hol free p&p offer from Craft Island. I've been coveting these papers for years & kept trying to avoid them, but then spotted the offer at gone 11:30pm one night when it was due to expire at midnight & sort of impulse purchased! Well, it's not widely available & it meant I only had to splurge £3.50!

After failing to find the latest Craft Stamper mag at my local WHSmith (plus getting irritated with the way the assistant didn't exactly try to help) I've taken out a subscription. Will save so much hassle.

Our local (largeish village) WH Smiths no longer seems to stock it either (they only ever had 1 or 2 in anyway!) & OH got it for me at the WH Smiths branch in town, very annoying!

My local scottish branch (different name McCalls I think) they put mine to one side, (it isn't ordered) and a couple of months ago when they did't get any copies, the Lady in the shop asked her daughter to get me a copy from a shop in Aberdeen, just to make you all jealous :smirk:

I agree, the list idea works really well. I used to spend a *ridiculous* amount on craft all the time and many purchases were driven by the (often irrational) fear that the items might not be available any more if I delayed buying them. Plus I used to spend a load with QVC, who had lots of sell outs in those days. I've found that things that I think I can't live without at the time are often passing fancies, and waiting a while helps me decide what I really want / gives me a chance to make miniscule inroads into my mountains of stash at home. Managed not to buy anything (apart from blades) from May onwards last year, which I would never have imagined possible. The only downside is that craft shopping is very inspiring, as you're always itching to see what you can create with your new stash!! xx

My "local" WHSmiths is in Cardiff and a large branch so not much hope for anyone else trying to get magazines from smaller outlets. Trouble is I think I may well find myself taking out one or two magazine subscriptions as the range of my crafting interests grows even larger.

More craft purchases to confess as well. I needed (no I really did) another storage case for my aquamarkers. Checked out Joanna Sheen as usual for that then discovered that the Jayne Netley Mayhew CDs were on special offer. Well, they were a bargain! No food for the rest of this month though!

I have been very good for weeks, then - ordered the new paint fusion stamps from Sheena, which have just arrived, and went to the Happy Stampers fair at Port Sunlight on Saturday.
Bought 3 Clarity Stamps, several Crafty Individuals stamps and some of their paper pads, stencil brushes, Graphic 45 papers, Tim Holtz flourish die (£9.99, which is the cheapest I've seen it), and some photo realistic stamps from Happy Daze.
That's all I can remember, but I had 4 full bags!!
No more spending for me for quite some time I think, now I don't know where to start!

I sold a few bits and pieces on the bay and had every intention of leaving the cash there until summer crafting in july so I could splurge then but as provocraft have now got craftedge to stop selling scal 2 which is compatible with cricut I used some of it to get that, and then someone posted about crafting uk offering 25% off everything so went for a wander and found doeflex sheets and well at 20 A4 for £7.49 it would have been rude to say no. Oh and then someone else posted about pinflair glue being £7.75 for two tubes on littlewoods so used a bit of my commission to get four tubes. But as the doesflex is for cutting masks on the cricut, the scal is to use with the cricut and the glue is well an essential I havent really bought anything have I??????????????

A large X Cut guillotine arrived today from W. H. Smiths, such a bargain £17.49 with free p&p. :clapping: I thought I saw a post on crafttelly about it mid April, but after searching can't find it. So thanks to whoever posted the information. :mysmilie_504:

I looked in Exeter Smiths while away on holiday but it was full price. Then ordered it on their web site although it said delivery in 4 weeks, so thought give it a try as payment taken when dispatched. Shocked to get an email yesterday that it was on it's way. Anyone else want one they have them in stock on their web site. http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=33686257

Does anyone know if it will cut mountboard? DH had some given to him by his art group leader, who's friends with the owner of a local art shop.

Hi Dax, I have the very same one Dax, it doesn't like 3 sheets of 300gsm card so I'm not sure it would cut mountboard. Great price am sure I paid more like the normal price, but it's an excellent piece of kit.
