David Tennant is in Hamlet at Stratford, so it seems likely he is going.

That's been known about for a long time, Lorraine - that's why there is no DW series on TV next year, just specials.
I even joined the DT forum last night (although they didn't let me in till this morning), I was so keen to find out what will happen
I'm not going to air any theories or spoilers, but I still don't believe it :p
Must admit I find the daleks pretty boring - same old, same old - but I had no clue that the Doctor would regenerate. I thought it was going to be Rose who got exterminated!

I don't believe the absolute cliffhanger, but it would be fantastic if RTD & the team had actually managed to keep that a secret...
The trailer for next weeks ep is up on the BBC DW site - I shall not be looking...well not right now, won't be able to avoid that for a week I don't think.
Both me & hubby were crying last night - with the kids just charging about screaming 'Exterminate!!!!!!'
All very Linda Hamilton/Terminator2!!!

I think you could safely watch the trailer, Welly - it doesn't give anything away!

DT is going to be a REALLY hard act to follow - one of the best ever Doctors IMO.

He's a big fanboy. I love that - he's done the ultimate fanboy dream LOL
I wouldn't even like to speculate on the next one (whenever that happens...:D)
One of the chaps on our list who's a Dalek operator (was on Confidental last night) warned us that there would be huge things afoot - & my he wasn't wrong! He would never ever dream of divulging it though. And I wouldn't want him to either

Winsiration ~ can I pm you for a *spoiler* goss?
I've looked at D.S. site recently and there are some good theories around, gotta hand it to RTD ~ he's done really good this series!

Of course, Colourarc - it will all be wild speculation on my part though :p
I looked at the DS site as well, normally I only look there for Big Brother stuff. Spent most of Saturday evening and some of Sunday scouting around in the hope of finding what would happen :D
I have calmed down a bit now, just as well as I'm probably not going to be able to watch the finale until Sunday

Only teasing. I watched it last night. Went to Hayling Island on Saturday and got back too late to see it live. My Brother wanted me to start seeing it at midnight but I declined his requested. He was in a real frenzy on Sunday in case I heard anything about it and banned me from watching he television in case I saw this Saturday's trailer. All I can say is we haven't actually seen the Doctor regenerate fully and remember his hand in a jar.

For the benefit of those that have not seen it, do not read this! Totally amazing how this panned out, all the characters going back to where they belonged, with the exception of one X who has no memory of the events she has experienced.
The other scary ones, the Cybermen come out of the woodwork for the Christmas special; my sofa will have behind it to hide.

I really enjoyed tonights episode. :D
I really enjoyed tonight's episode and was absolutely riveted.
Can't believe they're ressurecting the cybermen AGAIN. New ideas are so much better.
Most excellent, Welly must be beside herself!

I was feeling rather smug as my theory panned out. The next series isn't until 2010 so it has all been done to fit round David Tennant's schedule. Was actually a bit disappointed as I thought they would reveal more details about the Doctor's past. Thought it was a bit cheesy that Rose got a Doctor for herself (can't believe she didn't want that one though - either would have done for me!). Bit sad about the ending with the Doctor being left on his own - everybody loved him, everybody left him.
I thought it was very funny when the second doctor was talking like Donna. The comedy parts in this series have been really excellent I think.

I've just watched it, and enjoyed it thoroughly too :D
I agree that was a bit churlish of Rose, I'd be more than happy (ecstatic, in fact!) with my own David Tennant clone :p:D

I actually didn't enjoy last Journey's End as much as Stolen Earth - just for emotional impact really.
The bit that I adored was the most silly - towing the Earth...just fab & joyful ("no Jackie...not you" :D ) with another glorious score from Murray Gold.
Davros was fantastically bonkers & Donna suffered something possibly worse than death - I would have been devastated if they'd killed her off, but would have preferred it, IYSWIM. I actually cried at Wilf's fairwell & just for a second thought he was going to go off with the Doctor.
I wasn't too sure about Rose getting her own part human Doctor, a little too convenient, but guessed that would happen from the point where he said he had one heart.
Oh & yay K9!!!
Roll on Christmas :D

Funnily enough, I thought the same, Welly. I also thought the regeneration cliffhanger was resolved indecently quickly (given all the angst generated by it last week - for me anyway!), but then I guess they had a lot of stuff to pack into the episode
I think my favourite bits were where the second doctor had been created & was talking like Donna, and where Donna was fiddling with the gadgetry and talking tech speak like the Doctor.
I thought there was a lot of cheesiness generally in the episode, but I enjoyed it all anyway :D
I guess Mickey & Martha will be joining the cast of Torchwood then?
Roll on Christmas from me too!

I'm already dreading the Christmas episode. My Brother is a huge Doctor Who fan and this year we will be all at my parents' for Christmas which means that the whole house will have to be silent for the entire duration of the show. He then gets all het up trying to find out the viewing figures and says the BBC put it on at a certain time so it wouldn't get as good as viewing figures as it should have done. He'll then watch it again at about midnight when my Mum says, 'Haven't they put a Carry On film this year?'

Loved it all! I really warmed to Donna (didn't think I would!) and was so upset about her memory loss :(
As for Torchwood, I had a feeling Martha would be joining the team, it was set up in the last series, but what on Earth can Mickey bring to the team??
One of my fave moments: Rose/Doctor/Gwen - who's she? that's Gwen. has your family been in Cardiff long? Back to the 1800's etc *really* like the nods to smaller parts the actors have played in previous episodes.

sorry guys but I don't think that David Tennant is a patch on Christopher Eccleston...he's just not weird enough.... I remember all the Doctors..."My" doctor was Jon Pertwee

Oh, I adored Christopher Ecclestone too. I always thought there was something really mysterious about him - almost haunted. Although I have warmed (slowly) to David Tennant, I sometimes feel that he's hamming it up a bit.

:D He hams it up outrageously, but he is the best doctor ever as far as I'm concerned ;) I thought Chris Eccleston was great too, but much prefer DT now.
Patrick Troughton was my first doctor, although I remember William Hartnell too
I made the mistake of watching the finale again last night before going to bed - a mistake because then it was going round in my head for hours afterwards and I couldn't sleep

There is a school of thought that RTD wrote the 2nd Doctor with the outside chance that he might be able to persuade Mr Eccleston to pop in for a couple of days filming - which works completely with the bit where Doc 1 says "He's me when we first met"...
IMHO all the docs have something going for them - technically 'my' doc is Peter Davison, so as you can imagine, the Time Crash sketch for Children In Need made me completely wibble
To quote Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart "Splendid chap - all of them" :)

My Dr Who was Jon Pertwee. There aren't many of the Dr's that I haven't liked to be honest. They all bring something different to the show. Keeps us on our toes :D

Unbelievably I managed to miss not only the Satuday showing of the final episode, but the Sunday repeat - I thought we had missed it totally when we realised - but thankfully there was a repeat on Friday. So until then I have been avoiding this thread! This is the first chance I have had to catch up.......
Like Welly I was almost in tears when Wilf was saying goodbye to the Doctor. I hate the way they have written Donna Noble out....she has been a great "companion" and I think she deserved a better way out... but who knows.... perhaps this paves the way for her to come back in the future...some crisis perhaps where she is regaining her memories and the Doctor has to step in to save her life, but this time he finds a way to save her and leave her mind intact. I hope they do do something because they let us see Donna grow so much as a person throughout the series and then to take all that away from her is just too sad.
It was a brilliant finale but OMG we have to wait till 2010 for another series?..... ouch!

Grrr - I had Sky+'d the last 2 episodes of the series, have watched them both (twice!), but thought I would keep them to watch again at my leisure, given that there is a bit of a DW drought between now and 2010.
I noticed the penultimate episode had disappeared last week, and thought somehow I had deleted it in error. Today the finale has disappeared too, and I know I didn't do it
They weren't the oldest recordings on the disk, by a long chalk, so it wasn't done automatically to save space, there must be some kind of auto delete on them
Not a happy bunny!

Oooooo - that's not good. We'd had better check our's  Having said that, we tend to get the season box set anyway - the recordings off the telly are more for the kids to trash :D
