Have been working on these on and off for a while - have not had a lot of time to sit down and concentrate recently. But, had a day off today, and was able to finish them all off.
The first is a wedding anniversary card for my parents, which I painted on mountboard, with a crackle background:
http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z325/papercraftbycarole/Paint%20Fusion/IMG_5294.jpg
The others are birthday presents for two of my friends. The frames are from that lovely Swedish shop, painted and sprayed with Spray and Shine. The candles were the hardest - trying to paint on a curved surface and not smudge it all was a bit of a pain. The images on the cards were painted onto watercolour card, sprayed with gold Spray and Sparkle, then edged with distress ink and embossed with gold embossing powder. Same for the coasters. I am fairly pleased with the results - I just hope they'll like them. I will be putting more close up photos on my blog at the weekend -can't do it before then as I don't want my friends getting a sneak preview.

The wild rose set was originally meant to be the rosebuds - but however hard I tried, I just could not get the hang of painting them. So gave up!! May go back and try again at some point.

What wonderful gifts, Carole. It is great to see what the technique looks like on a card, something I would like to be able to do.

They are all really great Carole. The gift sets are a wonderful idea and I am sure will be well received by your lucky friends.
I know what you mean about the rose buds, they are the one that I've not had any great success with - the rose leaves are fine, just the flowers.
Keep going and don't forget to show us what you have done.

A couple more piccies - is this becoming an obsession???
http://i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z325/papercraftbycarole/Paint%20Fusion/IMG_5517-1.jpg
This butterfly set is for my best friend. I used the exclusive stamp set from the original launch. For more details on paints used feel free to visit my blog.

And these bookmarks are on mountboard. To finish them off, I embossed the back with the same colour as the edges - either copper or gold.

I don't know about an obsession Carole - it looks like a healthy business to me. You really have got this off to a "fine art".

They are beautiful, I particularly like the bookmarks.
I sat down to have a go, backgrounds all ready and stamped up then realised, out of all the myriad of paints I bought, I don't have any green! I did mix up some yellow and blue just to have a go but it will be easier with the right colours! Ordered a set from Sheena and hope they will be there when back from a few days away so I can really get started.
I felt the same as you Penelope and my first attempt at small leaves were nothing like on the practice sheet but, do you know what, when they had dried and I added the roses, it didn't look too bad at all!

Wow, great job. You really have got the 'bug' haven't you. :)

23-06-2011, 06:33 PM
Dizzyjoan - thanks - my friends are all loving it - they're waiting to see what flower they will have for their set!!!
Cmazza - you're so right about having the bug. I have the next set of stamps waiting for me to use, but still have so much to play with from the first ones!! I can't help it - just want to paint!!! This thread could run for a while!!!!
Penelope - seriously - just have a go!!! It's a lot easier than you think. And the more I do the more I find my own little techniques and ways of doing things.
Jenty - I so agree with you about how things look once they have dried and you go back to them. There have been several things I've not been happy with at the time I've finished, then I go back and I'm much happier!!
My husband says I'm hypercritical. I finally understand how he feels about the wildlife photos he takes - when I tell him I think they look brilliant, he always finds some fault. And now the roles are reversed with all this painting!!!
Thanks for all your lovely comments.

Really lovely, did I see a photo of your butterfly set on C&C when Sheena did her last shows?
I have agreed to demo this painting at a local fete at our church at the beginning of July as part of a craft group I run!!! I will need to practice a little first as I have not painted for a while, but thought I would spend the week before painting cards to sell and kill two birds with one stone so to speak.

That sounds like a good plan with having some cards ready to sell! Am sure you'll be brilliant!!! And yes, you did see the butterfly on C&C when Sheena was on!! Cxx

Wow you really have taken to it like a duck to water, you've made so many beautiful things! If you continue to have the bug you could start making gifts for your friends and family for Christmas. It's great when you get really into a particular technique and get a little production line going, and it does look like it'd be very relaxing and therapeutic. Looking forward to seeing what you make next! xx

The friend I gave the poppy set to, asked if I would make a set of coasters for her to give to her Mum. Fine I thought, until she gave me four specific flowers. Sweet Pea and pansy - fine, no problems. Rose - little bit more tricky (and the photo is on its side for some reason!). Jersy Lily - yikes!!!
So, I had to do a bit of "Freestyle Fusioneering"!! I'm particularly happy with the rose. The lily is less fusion style - couldn't get a "one stroke" look/feel to it - so it's not quite how I'd like it, but was as good as I could get it.
So, here are the results - these are the paintings. Have a look at the blog for the photos of the coasters and for more info.

Oh my - I'm so excited about the imminent release of the Christmas Paint Fusion stamps. I am only just being able to put down the first set and start playing with the second!! (Pansies to come soon - Tulips are next). But in the meantime, I thought I'd share my latest creations - some wall hanings - all made with Sheena's Mountboard shapes. I have blogged (http://www.papercraftbycarole.blogspot.com) - but to be honest spent more time squealing about the new stamps and Sheena's blog candy!! But, here are piccie anyway!! Cxx

Beautiful cards.
I am still trying to master the art of Paint Fusion and hope that I can manage it soon as the results are fab.
However I like all of Sheena's stamps so use them with different mediums.
