I made this last week for my auntie's 80th birthday:)
I was going to make a book style card tied up with ribbons, but ended up with this.
This is the front of the card and box. The lady is quite deeply decoupaged but it doesn't show very well in this picture unfortunately.

More of a close up of the front of the card. Was a lucky find on the net these decoupage sheets. My auntie loves pink and the flapper lady was appropriate to the era:)

I added some events of 1928 to the pages on one side.

And some events on 26th June through history

I had to make the box strong so nothing was damaged in the post. So used the thixk box card from crafter's companion and stuck the embossed bit on the front to make it look nicer.

Many thanks for all your lovely comments ladies:) It's very encouraging:)
Yes it took quite a lot of work and my auntie loved it. So it was worth it.I also sent her some pink and white flowers. Yes,she loves pink!
Marzipan .....the decoupage is from here. There's several pages to it ,the first three at the bottom of this page ,then it continues on the next page with some backing papers too.
There's also a pyramage sheet. I have that ready to make another card:)
