I saw these on ideal world on the free P&P day but they had sold out, have had a look online but most places have either sold out or theres P&P to pay on top. Before I take the plunge and pay out the P&P has anyone used the pearl cosmic shimmers and are they worth getting
I've used them a couple of times at work, Jan, and I really like them. They do have a lovely shimmer to them. Have used a bright pink and a soft gold to great effect imho. :o

The pearl effect watercolours that The Works sell are a good cheap alternative. You could get family to buy you the real thing as a stocking filler in a few weeks time,

The pearl effect watercolours are not the same thing at all, or at least not in terms of the Cosmic Shimmer "Pearl" set. The nearest equivalent to that set is the Twinkling H2O set that IW / C&C refer to at the "Faery" set, or to give the set it's official "kit number" then it's Kit 655
Both of these sets contain interference micas, meaning they change depending on how the light hits them, paint them on white card and you have an almost Ivory colour until the light bounces off then you see the interference colour - blue, green, pink etc. But paint them on dark card the the interference colour becomes as Jayne Nestorenko likes to describe it "electric"
LJ the H2O's are basically the same, but only 6 colours - the Cosmic set has 8 colours - however the price of the Cosmic's reflects the fact there are extra colours. JS sells the H2Os - have a set of them and they are fab - but unfortunately JS is out of stock just now - here is the link tho incase you want to keep an eye open for them coming back into stock

I agree with Phree the H20s are fab. Haven't used the Cosmic Shimmer Pearls though so can't compare. They are solid paints. There are also Radiant Pearls made by the same people (not sure if they are still available though) they are liquid paints and tend to leak out of the small jars so maybe the H20s are a replacement. lol Love them both.

I have a set of Cosmic Shimmer paints I got from IW. Although there are 8 in the kit, I did find there were 2/3 variations of,say, pink and purple within the set so really not a great deal of variety. They are very shimmery - much more so than most of the H2Os. They are also much softer. You can paint with them straight away with a wet paintbrush whereas you need to spritz the H2Os with water a few mins beforehand. In my opinion the H2Os are much better value. They last forever and have a fabulous range of colours. The Cosmic ones are very pretty but you would soon use them up because of the texture.
